1. Framing: Collated nail guns are frequently used for framing in construction. They can quickly attach framing members, such as studs and joists, to create the framework of a building.
2. Roofing: Roofing nailers are specialized collated nail guns designed for attaching shingles or roofing materials to the roof deck.
3. Finish Carpentry: Trim nailers are used for precision work like installing baseboards, crown molding, and trim. They leave smaller, less visible nail holes compared to traditional nailing methods.
4. Flooring: Flooring nailers are used to secure hardwood or engineered wood flooring to the subfloor, ensuring a tight fit without visible nail heads.
5. Siding: Siding nail guns are used to attach siding materials, such as vinyl or wood, to the exterior of buildings.
6. Upholstery: In the furniture industry, collated staple guns are used for attaching fabric to wooden frames or assembling furniture components.
7. Pallet and Crate Assembly: Collated nail guns are used in the manufacturing of wooden pallets, crates, and containers.
8. DIY and Home Improvement: Many homeowners and DIY enthusiasts use nail guns for a variety of projects, from building decks and fences to constructing shelves and cabinets.
These tools offer speed, precision, and reduced manual effort compared to traditional hammer-and-nail methods, making them essential for professionals and hobbyists alike in various industries. Plastic Collated Nails
In this type, plastic is used to hold the nails in a strip or coil. There are two kinds of plastic collation; plastic strip and plastic band.
Plastic StripA plastic strip will generally hold framing nails angled 20 to 22 degrees. Sometimes, they are used to hold coil nails at 15 degrees. The name of the collation is self-describing as it consists of a plastic strip that will break open each time the nail gun is fired and the nail itself is driven into the surface. This type of collation is quite common and popular, being found around the world on construction and carpentry sites.
Wire Weld
This is usually a thin piece of wire that runs lengthwise holding the nails or fasteners together. Mostly used for 15-degree coil nails and 28-degree framing nails, they are a common alternative to plastic or paper collation nails.
